@thesummer500 Treasure Hunt Promotion

How do I win?

You must have a registered and valid Twitter account. Simply visit www.twitter.com/thesummer500 and follow. Clues will be released to all those following the Twitter feed. The winner will be the first person/persons to find the designated hidden capsule and follow the instructions inside. One capsule will be hidden per week at the start of the week. The locations will be around the areas of Newcastle upon Tyne, Middlesbrough, Teesside and Whitley Bay.

Where can I find the Clues?

The clues will appear within the @thesummer500 Twitter feed. Clues will be no longer than 40 characters and may contain text, photos, video links and map co-ordinates.

Who is the sponsor of the Treasure Hunt?

The @thesummer500 Treasure Hunt is sponsored by Dawson & Sanderson who may choose to promote the treasure hunt and other services within the Twitter feed.

Can anyone take part?

You have to be aged 18 or over and a resident of the UK (Including CI, IOM) or ROI to enter. Employees of SCA, and their immediate families, its agents and anyone else professionally connected with the promotion are not able to participate in this promotion.

I am not a resident of UK, ROI, the Isle of Man or Channel Islands. Can I participate in the promotion?

No. This promotion is only open to individuals who are residents located in the UK (England, Wales and Scotland), ROI, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.

When is the closing date?

The last date clues will be announced online will be the 30th July 2010.

I don't have internet access. How can I enter the promotion?

We appreciate not everyone has internet access however internet access along with a Twitter account is essential in these circumstances in order to follow the competition in full.

Do I need an email address to participate?

Yes, to set up a Twitter account you need a valid email address. If you have not got an email address, you can easily set one up for free with a provider such as Yahoo or Hotmail.

How many prizes are there?

There are 4 prizes of €500. Each prize will be hidden in a different location through the month of July 2010. If the prize is not located in the given week the prize will rollover to the following week and will become findable in the new location for that week.

To claim do I need to keep the treasure capsule?

You will have to keep the capsule you have found and take it to the participating Dawson & Sanderson to claim the ‘Winners’ certificate for €500 currency. The participating shops are detailed below:

I’ve won a prize how do I claim?

First thing to do is take a photo of yourself with the capsule at the location you found it. You then need to follow the instructions on the certificate so the @thesummer500 team can notify the Twitter feed the treasure has been found and also notify the participating Dawson & Sanderson shop.

Where can I see a list of winners?

To view a list of winners, please visit www.thesummer500.co.uk after the 31st July 2010. Announcements will be made throughout July of the Winners via @thesummer500 Twitter page and the Facebook Fan Page.

Any user of one of @thesummer500 treasure hunt accepts that they are fully responsible for their own safety and that of any others participating with them. They should respect other people and property, follow the Countryside Code and keep within the law at all times. There is no need to enter land not normally open to the public. Children should be kept under control. All participants should take care on roads and rough/wet ground. All our @thesummer500 clues have been checked for accuracy, but sometimes things change (e.g. signs move or get covered up), so we cannot guarantee every clue can be answered at all times.
